Regional Park of Trasimeno Lake

The Natural Park of Trasimeno Lake (the fourth larger italian lake) covers all the basin of the lake, including the three islands (Maggiore, Minore, Polvese) and the territories of the municipalities of Castiglione del Lago, Magione, Panicale, Passignano and Tuoro.

The Park has numerous routes of extreme interest: one is at Tuoro visiting the locations of the battle between the Romans and Hannibal (217 a.C.). At Tuoro, also, there is the Campo del Sole, an area of modern art sculptures.

Around the lake there are also museums, like the Fishery Museum in San Feliciano and the Textile Museum in Panicale and also Centers for environment and didactic visits, as the Oasi La Valle (San Savino di Magione), which offers a point of observation for the lake's fauna and birds.
